Instructions: Special Note: Open flatlock stitches from the wrong side. Using a pressing cloth, press from the wrong side to set the seam flat. If needed, press again from the right side.
Use 1/4" seam allowance or just barely skim the edge of the fabric.

  1. Set up serger for a 4-thread Overlock stitch with Janome Overlock thread in the needles and Janome Decorative thread in both loopers.
  2. Using the pattern piece provided, cut 8 pieces from fabric.

Hint: You can cut four if you fold fabric in half.
  3. Number the pieces 1 through 8.
  4. Measure 12" from the point up the side on both sides of the eight sections and mark with the fabric marking pen.
  5. Starting at the first mark, on the right side of the fabric, edge stitch around the curve to the other mark. You can serge off.
  6. Repeat for remaining 7 sections.
  7. Set up serger for a 2-thread wide Flatlock stitch.
  8. Using your glue stick, tack down the thread tails to the wrong side of the fabric. Do not cut thread tails until all sections have been joined.
  9. With wrong sides together, starting at the curve, flatlock two sections together.

Note: Join section #1 to section #2, and then section #3 to section #4, section #5 to section #6, section #7 to section #8.
  10. You should end up with four sections of two pieces flatlocked together.
  11. Flatlock sections #1 and #2 to sections #3 and #4, wrong sides together.
  12. Now join sections #5 and #6 to sections #7 and #8.
  13. Now you should have two sections that have four pieces flatlocked together.
  14. With wrong sides together, flatlock the two sections to form Scalloped Table Top.
  15. Hide all thread tails, dab with seam sealant and trim when completely dry.
  16. If necessary, press again all seams from the wrong side.
