Assembly:

• Match Purse Front & Back, Pocket and Gusset to the matching piece of batting. Baste 1/8" from all edges.
• Fold the Ruffle in half wrong sides together. Sew a line of gathering stitches within the 1/4" seam allowance. Pull up the gathers to fit the upper edge of the Pocket.
• Pin the ruffle in place along the upper edge of the Pocket.
• Create a length of self covered piping with the 1 1/4" x 12" strip. Use the zipper foot to sew close to the piping, keeping the edges of the strip matching.
• Sew the length of piping to the upper edge of the Pocket, again using the zipper foot to sew close to the piping. Trim to match the edges of the pocket.
• Match the upper edge of the Pocket lining to the upper edge of the Pocket, right sides together. Pin in place over the piping.
• From the batting side, sew through all layers, following the previous line of stitching.
• Remove pins and turn right sides out. Match the edges of the pocket and pin. Match the pocket to the Purse Front and pin.
• Pin the zipper to the upper edge of the Purse Front, right sides together. Place the Purse lining over the Purse, matching the upper edge. The zipper will be sandwiched between the layers. Sew with a 1/4" seam. Fold the purse and purse lining away from the zipper, and finger press in place. Top stitch along the zipper through all layers.
• Pin the opposite side of the zipper to the upper edge of the Purse Back, right sides together. Place the Purse lining over the Purse, matching the upper edge. The zipper will be sandwiched between the layers. Sew with a 1/4" seam. Fold the purse and purse lining away from the zipper, and finger press in place. Top stitch along the zipper through all layers.
• Open the zipper.
• Match the Gusset to the Purse Front, easing around the curves and matching the dots. Stitch with a 1/4" seam.
• Match the Gusset to the Purse Back, easing around the curves and matching dots. Stitch with a 1/4" seam.
• Sew the Gusset Lining to the Purse lining using the same technique.
• Turn the Purse right sides out through the zipper opening. Smooth the lining into the purse, and check for tucks.
• Fold each Loop in half lengthwise and sew the 4" edge with a 1/4" seam. Turn the loops right sides out and fold so that the seam is centered on the wrong side. Edge stitch.
• Fold each loop in half with a square ring between the layers. Match the ends and baste within the 1/4" seam allowance.
• From the inside of the purse, pinch the upper edge of the gusset and gusset lining to create a 1" pleat. Pin or baste. Insert a loop and square ring into the gap at the end of the zipper.
• Match the ends of the zipper with the ends of the loop and ends of the gusset. Sew through all layers, boxing the upper corner of the purse. Repeat for the second loop.
• Fold the Strap in half lengthwise and sew with a 1/4" seam. Turn right sides out and edge stitch.
• Insert one end of the strap through the square ring. Fold in the ends. Stitch in place.
• Insert the other end of the strap through the square ring and adjust the strap to the desired length. Trim away the excess strap and sew in place to match the opposite end.
