Holiday Lettering for the MC10000, MC10001, and MC11K

This whimsical greeting can be used as a holiday door banner, a festive addition to a blouse or sweater or embroider it on a ready to wear apron for a quick hostess gift. The entire design is sewn in the Large Hoop B using built - in lettering and border designs. Using the new arcing features in the Edit screen provided by Version 2.20, you can create twists and turns to animate simple lettering.
Janome Supplies:
- Memory Craft 10000, 10001 or Memory Craft 11000
- Large Hoop B (MC1000or 10001 only)
- Square Hoop (MC11K only)
- Embroidery Foot P
- Janome Embroidery thread
- Janome Bobbin thread
- Blue Tip needle 75/11
Instructions:
- Press the Embroidery Mode key.
- Press the Edit tab.
Note: Follow the graphic of the completed design for exact placement of each word.
- Press the Monogram tab. Press the Font key. Select Script. Choose Medium size for all the letters.
- Enter the word "Have". Press OK. The word will appear in the center of the B hoop. Position "Have" slightly to the top of the screen.
- Press the Arc key. Press the downward arrow twice.
- Press the Monogram tab. Enter the word "Your". Press OK.
- Press the Arc key. Press the upward arrow twice.
- The letters in the word "Your" will appear to close together. Press the outward arrows twice to evenly space the letters.
- Press the Rotate key. Rotate 10°. Position to upper left area of screen.
- Press the Monogram tab. Enter "self". Press OK.
- Press the Arc key. Press the downward arrow twice.
- Press the Rotate key. Rotate 10°. Position "self" next to "Your".
- Press the Monogram tab. Enter "a". Press OK. Position following sample.
- Press the Monogram tab. Enter "Merry". Press the Arc key. Press the downward arrow once. Position following sample.
- Press the Monogram tab. Enter "Little". Press the Arc key. Press the upward arrow once. Press the outward arrow once. Position in place.
- Press the Monogram tab. Enter "Chris". Press the Arc key. Press the upward arrow once. Press the outward arrow once. Position to lower left.
- Press the Monogram tab. Enter "tmas". Press the Arc key. Press the downward arrow once. Press the Rotate key. Rotate 5°. Position next to "Chris".
- Press the Monogram tab. Press the Font key. Select Border. Press OK.

Note: The Border designs can be manipulated in the same fashion as the letters by arcing up or down. This effect gives an animated look to our design. Use the completed design as a guide to select musical notes.
- Combine a group (see 1) of notes. Press OK.

- Press the Size key. Size 115%. Press the Arc key. Press the downward arrow once. Position in place.
- Press the Monogram tab. Create another group (see 2) of notes. Press OK.
- Press the Size key. Size 115%. Press the Arc key. Press the downward arrow once. Position in place.
- Press the Monogram tab. Create another group (see 3) of notes. Press OK.
- Press the Size key. Size 115%. Press the Arc key. Press the downward arrow twice. Position in place.
- Press the Monogram tab. Create another group (see 4) of notes. Press OK.
- Press the Size key. Size 115%. Press the Arc key. Press the upward arrow twice. Press the outward arrow 3 times. Press OK.
- Press the Monogram key. Press the Next Page key. Select the leaf pattern, fourth on the 3rd row of designs. Press OK
- Position leaf design to the top center of the screen.
- Press the Monogram tab. Select the same leaf pattern. Select a space, then another leaf, another space then end with a leaf. This sequence has 3 leaves and 2 spaces. Press OK. Note: The space pattern looks like a dotted line rectangle and is the last design on the 2nd page.

- Press the Arc key. Press the upward arrow once. Press the outward arrow 4 times. Press OK
- Press the Size key. Size 110%. Position above the "Christmas".
- Press the Color key. Change the color of the designs as follows:
- Green (226)- single top leaf, "Have", "a" and group of leaves.
- Gold (003)- all note sections.
- Red (225) - "Yourself", "Merry", "Little" and "Christmas".
Note: To change the color of the words and border designs, select each design then press the Color key.
- Press the Monogram tab. Press the Next Page key. Select the 3rd design on the bottom row. Press OK.
Hint: This design is small and hard to see but it will be centered in the hoop.
- Press the Color key. Change to Red (225). Press OK.
- Position berries to the center of the top leaf.
Hint: This is a very small design and can easily "hide" behind other designs so it is best to move this design with the arrows instead of your fingers.
Tip: MC11000 activate the Magnify key to increase the size of the Edit screen for easier placement of designs.
- Press the Monogram tab. Press the Next Page key. Select the 3rd design on the bottom row again. Program three of this design with a space between them. Press OK.
- Again press the Color key. Change to Red (225). Press OK.
- Press the Arc key. Press the upward arrow once. Press the outward arrow 6 times.
Note: This should space the berries perfectly to be placed over the 3 leaves.
- Save your layout to the Built-in memory or an ATA PC Card.
Press OK to sew this design using the Large Hoop B.
Note: You may have several sections with the same color. You do not have to rethread in the sequence, simply "Skip" to the same color parts. Refer to you Instruction Book (page 20) for skipping colors. Or, to keep all colors together, you need to import all the same color designs in sequence and assign the colors before the next color is brought on the screen.
