Show your guests the royal treatment with Maddie's adorable slippers. Make them for a fun accessory at your next pool party, or invite your friends for a manicure night. They're so simple and fun to make, you can create them while the polish dries! You'll find instructions for making the adorning flowers in the lessons section of our website. Beginner level, time - 1/2 day
Janome Supplies Required:
- Memory Craft 11000, or any embroidery machine
- ST Hoop or hoop that will accommodate a 4"x4" embroidery design.
- Janome Bobbin thread
- Janome Embroidery thread
Fabric and Notions Required:
- 3 Sheets Adhesive Foamy
- 2 Sheets Adhesive Felt
- Water soluble stabilizer (optional)
- Fabric Tack glue or other permanent glue
- Rotary Cutter with new blade
Instructions:
- On a foamy sheet or water soluable stabilizer, embroider a selection of different sized flowers. (For embroidery instructions, see website lessons)
- Peel off paper from the two remaining foamy and felt sheets.
- Adhere one foamy sheet to the felt paper.
- On the foamy side, trace the outline of the pattern.
Note: Make one for the left foot and one for the right foot.
- Cut on the lines, making sure to cut the inside line. Use a sharp new blade inthe rotary cutter.
- Set up the Memory Craft for Ordinary Sewing. Adjust stitch length to 4.0.
- Fold up the strip and stitch in place. Use the guide marks for placement.
- Pinch the two strips together and stitch sbout 1" up from the base. Note: This will allow the toes to fit properly and hold the slipper in place.
- Arrange and adhere the flower to the center of the strips.
Note: Use clothespins to hold the flowers while the glue dries.
