Lesson 15 - Manually Digitize Flower - 4 (Continued from Lesson 14)

Our plan indicates that the next step is to digitize the petals. Magnify the petals so you can see them clearly.

We will do the gold petals first.

Click thread 239 Sunflower (or the color of your choice) on the Color Chart.

The technique we will use is to walk into the petal from the center of the flower, then satin stitch from the tip of the petal into the center of the flower. Using this technique will eliminate any thread trails from petal to petal.

Click the Run Line icon.

Click reference points from the center of the flower into the first gold petal you choose.

Press the Enter key to generate the walking line.

Click the Turning Angle fill icon.

Click the Object Details icon.

Click the Underlay tab. Change the underlay to Zig-zag.

Click reference points from the tip of the petal to the center of the flower.

Click the Run Line icon. Click reference points into the next petal.

Press the Enter key to generate the run line.

Click the Turning Angle Fill icon. Click reference points from the tip of the petal into the center of the flower.

Press the Enter key to generate the embroidery.

Continue in this manner until all the gold petals are completed.

Click the Thread icon. Click thread 203 Orange.

Digitize a run line into each petal. Digitize each petal from the tip into the center of the flower, just as you did with the gold petals.
