Lesson 10 - Digitizing A Leaf With Parallel Fill

The object of this lesson is to practice clicking points around a graphic shape to create embroidery.

We are going to digitize a leaf on a graphic that is in the Embroidery Album.

Click once on Flower to see a preview. Click Open to bring the image to the design screen.

Click the Zoom In icon twice to magnify the design screen so that you can see the lower right leaf easily.
Image
Click the Parallel Fill icon.
Image
Click the Thread icon. Change the color to green, your preference.
Image
Click the Object Details icon.

Make sure the Weave Fill button is clicked. Change Underlay to Weave to create underlay that is perpendicular to the weave stitch.

Click OK.

Click reference points around the leaf. You may start and end wherever you choose, but don't connect the first and last points. They will be connected when you press the Enter key.

Remember to overlap the stem of the leaf into the stem of the flower so there won't be gaps when it stitches.

If you don't like the way a point lays, simply press the Backspace key to delete it.

Don't be concerned if you don't follow the graphic exactly, because we will reshape the leaf in the next lesson.
