Janome Unveils the Horizon Memory Craft 12000

19 October, 2011

Throughout its history, the Janome Sewing Machine Company has led the sewing industry with a series of innovations. Now with the release of the Horizon Memory Craft 12000 the company charts a new direction for sewing, quilting and embroidery enthusiasts.

With its largest-ever bed space and innovative navigation system, the Horizon Memory Craft 12000 reflects the forward-thinking design of many of Janome's most popular models. And with its high level sewing capability and sophisticated linear motion embroidery, it shows the influence of the Memory Craft 11000. But the MC12000 goes far beyond all of its predecessors, offering many features never before available on a Janome machine. Larger embroidery hoops, 9mm stitch width, stitching speeds up to 1,000 spm, and real-time computer connectivity are just a few examples.

While built-in sewing machine touchscreens have gotten larger and larger, the Memory Craft 12000 goes beyond those limits to let you work on a screen of virtually any size. Through a real time connection to your PC via Horizon Link™, you can create and edit embroidery designs on your computer, so your editing screen can now be as large as your computer monitor and you can use your mouse to drag, drop and edit. If you have a Windows laptop, you can work on your embroidery layouts anywhere, anytime. You simply reconnect and sync to your MC12000 when you're ready to stitch out.
The Memory Craft 12000 also lets you create original decorative stitches on your PC. Using the Stitch Composer™ software you can make your own stitches from scratch. It's like doing a dot-to-dot. And when you're finished creating your new stitch, you can import it into the sewing machine and use it like any other built-in stitch.
Janome's AcuFeed system has been a favorite among quilters. Now it has a major upgrade and a new name. The AcuFeed Flex™ Layered Fabric Feeding System comes with two kinds of feet. The Dual Prong Foot gives you extra traction. The Single Prong Foot lets you get in close. Both are easily detachable.
Another first for the Memory Craft 12000 is its embroidery unit. Instead of sticking out to the side, the new Linear Motion Embroidery System™ slips neatly, discretely onto the back of the machine to give you a bigger embroidery area than ever before, with even greater accuracy. Designed with a minimum profile, you can leave it attached for regular sewing. And it makes the MC12000 the only machine to allow Free Arm embroidery: a Janome exclusive.
Other "firsts" included on this machine are: The 15" stainless steel plate in the sewing bed with embossed measurements; the Variable Zigzag function controlled by the knee lifter; a one-step needle plate conversion (no screwdriver needed); 10 built-in LEDs in 5 locations; a Retractable High Light™ which acts like a mini spotlight; an Adjustable AcuView Magnifier™ to see close up; 425 built-in stitches; 91 needle positions; an Auto Presser Foot Lift, and many more.
The Horizon Memory Craft 12000 will be available at certified Janome dealerships in the USA on October 1, 2011.
