Janome Releases Official Statement Regarding 1/4" Seam Sewing on Horizon 7700QCP

11 August, 2010

Dear Janome Customer,
After the release of the Horizon Memory Craft 7700QCP, some customers found that they had difficulty sewing over ¼” seams on multiple layers with the ¼” Seam Foot O. Our parent company in Japan was advised of the situation and immediately began testing so as to alleviate this issue.
After some deliberation, they found that by creating a curved shape in the underside of the ¼” seam foot this situation was resolved. As a result, our engineers have developed a new ¼” seam foot, called ¼” Seam Foot O2. This specialized foot has a groove on the underside to allow the foot to sew over all seams with accuracy and precision.
Instead of the current 1/4” Seam Foot O, the new ¼” Seam Foot O2 will be included with the Standard Accessories for the Horizon Memory Craft 7700QCP in every machine on an on-going basis.
In addition, this new foot will be shipped to each customer who has already purchased the machine and registered its warranty on our website, free of charge. As the development of the O2 foot is scheduled to be completed by the end of September, we should be able to start sending the O2 foot to customers sometime in October. Due to the large volume we have sold over the past few months, this process may take a couple of months.
At Janome, we care deeply about feedback from our customers and try our best to bring you a solution when any concern is raised. As always, your satisfaction is essential to us, and we will continue to ensure that our products are of the highest possible quality.
