I am making leather handbags. I have been looking for a lining with a professional look. I have been using cotton from a fabric store, but it does not have the body and look I want. most handbags purchased have a heavier fabric inside. Is it broadcloth? do you know of a site that sells lining yardage for handbags.

Choosing an iron

This is a little off the beaten path, but I am now researching irons.
I purchased two different Rowenta's over the weekend, the small 1000W travel iron and a larger model also. I like them both, but wonder how they will perform in the long haul. I'm now looking at the yellow Oliso and reading reviews on that one.
So, after reading lots of reviews from a lot of places, I've thought to post this to the Janome forum since I'm sure everyone here uses an iron!
Any input to good choices for a versatile, long-lasting iron with good features and ergonomics? What do you have that you like and would swear by?

I purchased my Decor Pro 5124 ten years ago when sewing new canvas for my sailboat. I am now redoing all the canvas and I am struggling with getting a good stitch. The bobbin thread remains on the bottom of the cloth, regardless of how high I set the tension - basically it is just a straight line.

I am using two different types of Sunbrella - a marine grade that is very stiff (9.25 oz/sq. yard) and an upholstery version (6.25 oz/sq. yard) for cushions, along with a V-92 Polyester Blue UV 4oz Thread (unwaxed) . I have been using a Janome Denim Needle #16 as well as a Janome Leather Needle #16.
At a minimum I sew through 2 layers, sometimes as many as 5. I go slow.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It looks very simple except I have NO IDEA how they turned down the edges inside and stitched without being able to see the stitches on the outside. The edges are simply turned down 2" and stitched...I have tried a million stitches, but you can see all stitching on the right side? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
