Hello, I am new to these forums and have been serging with my Janome 4DLG Serger now since January, and before today I have never had a major problem.
I was in the middle of serging a garment when the needle suddenly stopped moving entirely. Icould hear the motor running when you pressed down on the pedal, but the needle would not move, and when trying to move it manually via the handwheel, it was discovered that the handwheel is also no longer attached to the needle, and spins with very little resistance. Help?

- Ozymandias

I've had this machine for about 3 months and used it successfully for t-shirts & pajamas until now. I'm having trouble finding the right settings to hem a swimwear knit - the hem keeps tunneling like crazy. I tried looking in my manual and just realized that even though I bought this brand new in a factory sealed box, it has the manual for the 900CP instead of the 900CPX. So there is no mention of what that button right above the looper cover does, nor is there much in the way of troubleshooting. I tried both settings for the mystery button, but it didn't help either way. I assume one or more of the tension settings should be changed and I thought if would be the looper, but after fooling with it for the last 4 hours, I'm tired of trying to guess. So, my questions are:

1) Where can I get the instruction manual for the 900CPX?
2) What are the proper tension settings for swimwear fabric?

thanks for any insight.

I have a Combi dx 502 with the sewing and overlock in one. When I put it in overlock mode the light does come on and the machine makes a "running" sound but the wheel does not turn and the needle does not move. It makes a sound like it's running but stuck. I can't figure this out. Any help greatly appriciated

I have a Magnolia 7034D serger, and I have been using it for a few years. There has been a recurring malfunction since day one: The last "eye" in the lower looper thread path pulls out/comes unthreaded all the time. It seems pretty random. I rethread, from right to left according to the manual, using Maxi-lock thread. I have had a complete tune-up (all tensions reset, etc), changed the needles, tried different fabrics...all to no avail. It just. keeps. coming. unthreaded. It ran nicely after the tune-up for a little while (a few thread changes), and started again. I am a serger novice, so user error is a definite possibility...I just wish I knew what it was!

Could the diagrams of threading in the manual possibly be incorrect? Because I've followed it a million times.

*the dealer where I purchased the machine is a million miles away, and not terribly helpful anyway, so that route isn't a good option.
