I have been battling my 1600P on a Grace Pro Frame w SR. Stitch size is not uniform. Stitching one way vertically and one way horizontally is fine. Go opposite ways horizontally and vertically and I have little dots from the bobbin showing and inconsistent stitches. I use King Tut thread top and bobbin, tension on 3, 90/16HL needles from Organ. I have had this set up with the SR for 6 months and have not been successful yet. Is anyone successful with stressfree quilting with the 1600 on a frame?
you must be the most patient person on this planet, try increasing the pressure between the track wheels & the encoder wheels. Then follow troubleshooting, on page 13 of your manual.
Hi. I also have a 1600 on a little Gracie ll frame. I have had this set-up for three years and only recently discovered that the little pre-tension actually does something. Perhaps like me you don't have it actually engaged and working. I always threaded it through the three holes and then through the tension discs, but I didn't actually have any tension on these discs. It really made a world of difference on how the machine sews. My problem was basically thread breaking and driving me crazy. I have a SR but prefer not to use it as it seems to slow me down. This may help if, like me, you weren't actually using it.

I have a janome1600p on a Gracie pinnacle frame, thread breaks constantly, driving us all mad...seems to work beautifully for the first hour then breaks constantly, missing stitches beginning to think it may have been the wrong purchase...
