From what I have heard a new hoop and a clothsetter will be available soon. But keep in mind the clothsetter for the 11,000 was huge, so I am not sure I really want one. I do want to try using the extension table, but I am a little aprehensive about the hoop as well . I guess I need to try it to see. Petula let us know if you do try it, I am curious to know .
Also anyone that has the MBX can see there is an additional hoop listed under the 12,000 so that may be a hint as to what hoop is coming.

The clothsetter for the 12000 is coming out in June or July but be forewarned-the price will be OVER $200! They are also coming out with a "professional quilting" kit this summer, also not free.

Jacquie why would you want a 5x7 hoop. That only limits all of your designs . The hoop is not a square hoop if it is a 5x7. Why not an 8x8 . That is one of the best sizes out there. You can do all of your 5x7 designs in an 8x8 hoop without having to worry about the size.

To save on stabilizer, especially if I want to do a 5x5 or smaller design. We go from the FA to the 8x8 square. I would like something in between.

Your #14 SQ hoop that came with your machine is a 5.5 X5.5. I do find the 9.1X9.1 is a bit big but at least they are both square. You got 4 hoops with your machine didn't you?

MOM, I think Jacquie is going on the premise that a 5X7 hoop accommodates most of the designs she uses. I know that I wasn't so in love with the 8X8 hoop when I first got my MC11000 from the MC10000 as I didn't have any designs that big and it seemed like such a lot of stabilizer. I also feel that there is a big gap between the size of the hoops and especially from the 5.5 to the 9.1. The size difference of the 2 large ones is treat as they just can do the trick.
On another note, I did hear or read somewhere, that there is to be an acuhoop, something like we had with our 11000's and that would be wonderful. It may be the answer to what we all would like and need.
It does seem strange that we ask for bigger but really don't want to give up what we've had. I am really glad to have that 2X4 hoop as it is much more useful than the 2X2 of the past.

I heard that also Cheryl. If you look under the selection of hoops in the MBX there is a quilting Hoop listed and I believe it is a 7x7 or 8x8 I cannot remember.
I guess I am one of the few ones that love the bigger hoops. Yes we do use a little more stabilizer and fabric but we can work around it by using the sticky tearaway. I just tearawy the middle of the stabilizer and then place another on top without unhooping.
I tried Marathon stabilizer this month for the first time that I bought at a sewing expo and love it. It is so much more afforadable and comes in large and small rolls.

I miss my 5 x 7 hoop! It was perfect for lace bookmarks and lots of other designs I like to stitch out. No waste of stablilzer either......so I sure hope Janome brings in a hoop close to that size.

Please contact Janome and let them know that you would like a 5 x 7 hoop. Janome is pretty good at listening to their customers.

I hope they'll give us a 5 x 7 now. It was the hoop I used the most and I really miss it.

From what I heard a clothsetter is coming. I am hoping it is not as big and hard to manage like the one for the 11,000. Your hooping issues could be that the hoops are not straight. If you look to the top of the hoop itself there are little arrows and an alighnment line. If you align your inner hoop with the arrow on the outer hoop you should have no issues. Also remember to calibrate your hoop to your machine. I found my 5x5 hoop was way off. The rest were perfect.

I have never heard of calibrating the hoop to the machine. Who knew? I calibrated my clothsetter (for my 10001) to the machine and then never used it. But I didn't know about the hoop thing. I have never worried as whatever I have been embroidering has landed where it should, but then I have never done anything that required special placement like matching up designs etc. How does one do this? I would like to know if my hoops are bang on. If not how do I fix them? All the arrows of the inner and outer hoops match up, so this bit is OK.
Reminds me, must also check my oven temperature with a thermometer while I am investigating the accuracy of my household appliances....

Jacquie:
I found all my hoops were perfect except my SQ14. It was a little off.
Go to your manual ( I know your most favorite place) how to calibrate your hoop is on page 129.
I did not think any of mine was off, but I thought I would check. I was really surprised.
