Just recently purchased a 6500 which I love, however, it appears that there is no serpentine stitch on it. I like to use the serpentine stitch when quilting borders or sashing. Just wondering if I am missing it somewhere or if anyone has any ideas for another stitch that would work for this purpose.

Hi Roxanne,

I have the 6600 so I'm not sure if the stitches are the same as the 6500. My serpentine stitch is No. 26 in Mode 2 on my machine. Is that the stitch you mean, it is like the multiple zigzag, except it is round instead of pointed.

That's similar but not exactly what I was looking for. There are a couple others that are similar too. The serpentine stitch on my old machine was more of a gradual curve, not so close together. I guess all machines are different. I can live without the serpentine stitch. I love everything else about the machine. I just completed a lap quilt today and it turned out stunning.

Roxanne, I believe you can make that stitch wider but not longer, which is a bummer, I think.

A friend has the same problem with the serpentine, cannot lengthen the curve. I have a feeling that the only machines that seem to be able to this are Viking and Bernina.

My inexpensive Singer had a great Serpentine stitch. You would think a $1000 Janome would have it. That's my only complaint about this machine. Otherwise, I love it to pieces!

I was looking for that too! I have a DC3050. Does anyone know which stitch this would be?

Thanks!
