I have had my 12000 since December and I love it. It embroiders beautifully. I traded in my 11000 for the larger hoop system and better stitch quality. I have not been disappointed in the quality of the stitching, but I agree with some that the needle threader leaves something to be desired, and the bobbin winder does not do as good a job as the 11000. The problem I am experiencing now is an error message I cannot get rid of. It is constantly stopping in the middle of sewing to say Please check to see if you have the proper foot attached! I always use the recommended foot for the stitch I am applying. I had it in to the dealer, and of course it sewed beautifully and that message never came up, but once I got it home, it has happened constantly. Has anyone else experienced this frustrating problem?

My first suggestion is to take it back to the dealer. If the machine has been working fine since you purchased with the exception of recently, than you need to take it back to the dealer and let him/her keep it until it makes the error message. You purchased the machine in December and it is still under full warranty so it is the dealers responsibility to correct the error.

I have had mine into the dealer just this past few weeks not for an issue but the thread kept coming out of the take up lever, they kept it for 3 days and put in the recent update which by the way the update is available either by the dealer or if you feel comfortable enough you can download it from the Janome website and install it your self. I let my dealer install it not because I did not feel comfortable doing it myself, because I have always done my own, but for the price we paid for the machine let them take care of our issues and our installs.

You should not be having these issues.

Mom, thank you for your reply. I have asked my dealer about this upgrade and he is checking into this. I don't think he has received the latest training, but should be able to get the upgrade. I am also checking the website for the upgrade. Is it 1.1? I have 1.01 on my screen now.

Yes charlotte it is 1.10. You can do the update yourself if you want to. There are 2 parts to the update and I had to remind my dealer when he did it. One is for the machine and the other for the Horizon Link. You dealer should have received the information back in May,

I updated the machine to 1.1.0 myself from the website. It seems to like it just fine so far. I am hoping some of the issues are resolved with the update, so I guess time will tell. I may even try the Horizon Link update, even though I haven't used the Link very much yet.

Yes charlotte go ahead and do the Horizpn Link update. it will add the new Hoop to the software. There are afew improvements for that program as well. I do not use it either, but I am hoping they come out with more lessons for it. It is free take advantage of it.
