When I connect the laptop to the machine, the computer's Device Manager shows Unknown Device, the PC Folder tool program confirms that there is no USB driver and the sewing machine says 'Check PC connection'.
When I first installed MC11K Tools, PC Folder Tool said the USB drivers were incorrect, so I accepted the option to uninstall them. I re-installed them; now PC Folder Tool declares that there is no USB driver.
The USB driver file on the MC11K Tools CD ROM appears to be JSMC860, but this is not recognised when loading the driver file manually.
The machine's firmware version is v 2.01
It appears that the MC11K Tools USB driver is incompatible with the machine's firmware. Does anyone know where I can get the correct USB driver or advise what alternative action I should take? I noticed this is an ongoing issue, can anyone please help me??????

There is an update on the Janome website under Learning Center, Software updates for the PC Tools for the 11,000. Be sure to read the info first before downloading it. there should be a pdf included with the update.

I am having the same problem. I have followed your instructions MOM, and I am unsuccessful. I did not receive the PDF either. What am I missing? I would like to talk to a tech if I could. Will you post a number to call, I cannot find one in the package I was given when I purchased the machine.
thank you

I have purchased a second hand Janome 10000 MC. This is the second one I've owned. I had no trouble with the first one in transferring patterns from my pc to the machine. With this one, when I try to transfer the design I get a message that I need to install disc of JSMC 850. I didn't receive a disc with the machine. Is there a place on line that I can download this? I'm not a computer whiz so don't understand a lot of the terminology but the laptop is the same one that I used with my other Janome 10000 MC and the designs are on this computer. Please advise.

What operating system do you use on your lap top, as the MC 10000 cant communicate with Windows XP service pack 3, Vista or windows 7. You'll need a compact flash card 512mb or smaller, a compact flash adaptor, a card reader writer unit to transfer your designs for stitching on your machine.

I know you have answered ALOT of questions from me and they were helpful BUT !!! I am about to give up on my MC10001 MBX Digitizer software and Windows 7.. Ive done everything you said to do and Terri (Janome Tech) told me to do and I still cant get it to work properly. 1. I cant get my designs to save to a CFC. 2. Every time I try to print my designs the Windows shuts down. 3. Or I get as exception error that shuts me down. 4. I purchased the CFC, adapter, and card read writer and I still cant use my embroidery machine. Have been trying to use it since February when I upgraded to this MBX and nothing. The clocks ticking and so am I.. TNT and BOOM!!!! HELP Digimad keep it simple no tech stuff

Have you formatted your ATA card in your sewing machine. It will be on the setting menu which is one of the icons on the bottom of the sewing machine screen. Check them all out to see what they offer and when you get to the "format" ask for the ATA Card, you only have 2 choices, "Built in Memory" and the card.
Then go to your computer and go to
Start
double click on Computer
On the window that opens there will be some drive letters, go to the letter of the drive that contains your card. Double click on that, inside you should see to folders: EMB and ORD - forget about the ORD an then double click on the EMB an inside that one should be a list of folders starting at emb5 to emb16.
Those folders are where you place your .jef format files.
Can you open Digitizer MBX or do you get an error before that. If it opens and you can get a design on your screen, try doing a "Save As" an from the list select .jef format. At the top of this window there is a bar that says "Save in" make sure that you are saving to your card by selecting the little arrow to the right of the box and locating the folder you need. Once you've done all that hit the "Save" button. Hopefully your program will not crash.
