Topic Title: 300e transferring design FROM machine to CF card? Topic Summary: can I transfer a design from the machine to a card? Created On: 06/15/2012 03:51 PM
I took a class at my dealer. Part of the class cost covered the design we used. The design was loaded onto each of our machines. (I would have preferred that the design be loaded onto a CF card instead, but that wasn't an option.)
As you know, you can only put so many designs onto the machine. Although the class design is very pretty, I don't particularly want to KEEP the design on the machine. I would like to be able to put a design I use more regularly in its place.
I know how to transfer a design from a CF card to the machine. That's not the question.
My question is: is it possible to transfer the design (from the class) onto a CF card so that I can still use it (after all, I *did* pay for it). Removing the design from the machine will free up space so that I can put a different design into the machine.
I know that I can permanently remove any design from the machine simply by putting it in the trash can ... but then I wouldn't be able to use that design any longer. The ONLY copy I have of this design is on the machine; therefore, if I put it in the trash can, I've lost it forever.
Please note that I already have the maximum number of designs loaded into the machine. For me to put a new design in the machine, I must remove a currently existing one.
When you have the design open there should be a place to save your design either in a folder or on the crd. Put the CArd in your machine and save it to the card and then you can save it in your computer. If the design still appears on your machine just delete it and that should take care of saving it for future use without keeping it on your machine.
thanks, Mom! I discovered that I need to be in the EDIT mode in order to save the design .. and then I get the choice of saving it to either the machine or a card. But you mentioning that I needed to have the design *open* (well .. duh!) did the trick for me! Thanks again! :-)
