I just got the Janome Mc300E embroidery machine. I got an adapter for the micro sd cards because my computer cannot read the Ata pc card because it is so very old.
I was hoping that the micro sd card (32M) would work but I keep getting the:
"ATA PC CARD Memory ERROR
FAT error in the card
Do you want to format the card?"
ATA PC CARD
!ERROR occured while Processing!
Is there a way to use the micro sd card with the converter (that i have, and it plugs in just fine, just is having a reading error) or do I have to buy the ancient hardware and a converter for both my computer and the Janome 300e?

I do not quite understand what you mean by ancient hardware. You can purchase an external card reader at your local office store that will be able to be connected to your computer if it has a USB port to send designs to your ATA card however you need a 128mb card to use in your machine. What size ATA card do you have that you are using> You will need to format your ATA card in your machine for the machine to create the folders for your design for your machine to read it. If you check some of the previus posts or if you put formatting your ATA card in the search box on the home page of the Janome webstie it will give you the directions how to do that if you are unfamiliar with the process. The your machine should be able to process the design.
Hope this helps.

Fabriholic, a couple of people have managed to use an SD card, but they are an exception, however a compact flash card or USB is preferable. The maximum size for the 350E is 1gb for Compact Flash or USB.
Somewhere on this forum I did upload the full specs for all Janome external drives, machine built in memory, hoop sizes , stitch limits colour change limits, folder hierarchy, but unfortunately there's no way of creating a folder to keep them from disappearing.
ATA /Compact flash cards can be purchased online from Memory supply if you live in the US or Canada, or Amazon if you live in Europe and Gt Britain.

It is Memorysuppliers.com from whom you can purchase the smiall MB ATA PC cards. You can also get the adapter from them. Do not purchase anything bigger than 512MB. Format the card in your machine. Put the card into your computer, get the designs, put them into the embroidery folder which the machine wil have installed during formatting and then use in your machine.

Fabriholic, If you get the proper peripherals that your 300E needs, you will have no problems. The link to the cards and the adapter:
http://www.memorysuppliers.com/compactflash.html - cards
http://www.memorysuppliers.com/noname.html - PCMCIA (adapter)
They are not expensive and they send them very quickly.

oops, just realised you said you have a 300 not 350. Your card limit is 512mb, no larger. The 300e has a small built in memory and processer, but as devil cat, Cheryl and myself have given you an online supplier for cf cards and the adaptors. I have a multi car ata adaptor but my machine will not accept anything other than a cf card.

I am getting this same error. I have a Kodak 512 mb compactflash card and when I put it in the MC300E to format it I get
"ATA PC CARD Memory ERROR
FAT error in the card
Do you want to format the card?"
ATA PC CARD
!ERROR occured while Processing!
I have two of these cards and they both give me the same error?!?
