Hello Every one I hope some out there can help me with this. I purchased a pre-owned MC 11000 SE I have had it for a about a month. The regular sewing part is great works wonderful.
The embroidery part: When I go to stitch out a design, and it could be any a built in or one from my flash stick, it starts out fine, and then I start to hear a sound
like it is stitching over layers and layers of thread (A thump sound). The warning comes up to rethread. The thread looks sheddred, I trim and re thread and again the sound on thumping starts. I have changed needles, the thread type, I have cleaned it. And have even turned off the the thread cutter thinking that might be the problem.
And once the noise starts it will also skip stitches.
The lady I purchase it from stated she had it services and it was all in working order. I love this machine I have been wanting this model for many years, and now that I have it I have not been able to embroidery.
I have only been able to stitch out two or three designs without the thread sheddring. Any ideas I don't want to have to invest a lot money into this machine.
I already paid a fair amount when I purchased it. I am hopeing this is something
I can just figure out, ot else I will have to send it out for repair.
Thank you

It could be your thread or your bobbin case. There is an update for the 11,000 for Polyester Thread. You might want tp download the free update and if your machine continues to do it, find out where your friend had it serviced and take it back there with her receipt if she has it. also some of the older Janome 11,000's had bobbin issues if you continue to have issues take it to your nearest dealer.

Thank you very much for the information.
I was thinking it could be the bobbin case. I have tryed different types of thread, poly, rayon, and even cotton thread to do some kind of embroidery design. Last night I did a complete cross stitch flower design in poly thread and it turned out great. But then I went to do a single line design in rayon thread and I couldn't finish it because the thread kept on shedding and making a ball on the under side. I also have been using the red tip needles. I guess I will take it to a dealer and have them take a look at it.
I will let you know how it works out.
Thanks

Yes I did download the update to my desk top. I read the instructions.
This machine was upgraded from MC 11000 to a MC 11000 SE and I am not sure if (2.0) I will loose anything in trying to upgrade it my self. The lady I purchased it from had her dealer upgrade it, and that is in La Porto TX, I just don't want to mess up anything, so if I let the dealer check it out here (I'm in Upstate NY) if anything gets messed up they can fix it.

Thanks

The latest upgrade for the MC11000 to SE is Version 3.01 or 3.1 (can't remember exactly). There was a cost to upgrade to that version but you got a 7"X7" Acu hoop for it as well as numbers other software for the machine, new stitches, and designs as well. Anything that was built into the machine will always remain there, but if you have saved things to the memory of the machine - put them on a USB or PC card before doing the update or upgrade as they will be erased. Don't worry, it is hard to mess things up with the machine.

I am going to take it to a dealer and have them take a look at it. And it just might be the bobbin case, because that is where I hear the thumping sound. I was just going to purchase a new bobbin case. If it is they can put a new one in. I cleaned the machine and I was trying to figure out if maybe I didn't put the case in correctly. But I don see how I could put it wrong.

I will let you know how everything goes
