temptat Posts: 14 Joined: 12/12/2008	Hello, Just got my MBX after 2 months wait. I was wondering if it is better to leave the dongle in all of the time or insert only when program is used. digimad Posts: 3674 Joined: 08/30/2007	Frank mine never leaves the usb port its plugged into. It went in day one, its remained there ever since. The only thing I would say is if you are using a laptop, get a USB extension lead. You pop your dongle into that, and insert the lead into the PC. That way you dont risk comprising the contacts of the dongle only your lead. A replacement extension is a darn sight cheaper than replacing a dongle or a program. I use a desktop tower so my dongle resides in the back of my tower, and it will stay there until my current program is due an upgrade or the PC croaks. ------------------------- digimad Edited: 05/14/2012 at 04:08 PM by digimad

If the dongle goes missing your digitizer program is no longer useable and you cannot get one from Janome or who ever your digitizer is from... lonsews Posts: 8 Joined: 05/09/2012	I was considering the Digitizer MBX upgrade. What will happen to the dongle to the Digitizer MB? Can I still use the Digitizer MB program on another computer with the dongle from which it came with, once its been up-graded to MBX?

GrannyGoose Posts: 134 Joined: 11/30/2008	IF you upgrade , install it to the same machine you are using the current program on. This will KILL the old dongle (sorry has to happen) and will activate the new one with all your info. If you want to install on another computer you can and it will ba full copy of the MBX but you will have to use the same dongle.no cheap workarounds. the only way to get another dongle is buy another FULL program.
