How do I format a USB stick for use in a Memory Craft 11000? On the machine, I've tried going under mode - set2 - and when asked, I formatted the USB stick on the machine. When I go to the computer, I see a EMB and ORD folder on the USB stick. I've tried saving my embrodery design in both the EMB and ORD folders... as well as the Embf and Ordf folders inside the EMB and ORD folders, respectively. What am I doing wrong? The machine uses .jef designs, right? Thank you for any help you can offer!?! I should add that when I then put the USB stick in the machine, I see the Ombf folder, but no design appears on the screen, even though on my computer, the .jef design is there.
Disregard - I figured out I had to be in embrodery mode to see the design!!!

Inside the EMB folder is an EMBF folder, thats where the design goes. Make sure your in embroidery mode. If the stick is to big it may not work but it should read if you don't put to many designs on it.

I see that there is a machine softeware updates for the Memory Craft 11000 to 2.10/31.0.
How can this help? Will this help the embroidery thread keep from pulling to the bobbin thread to the top while stitching embroidery designs and lettering? Or is there more to it?

If my memory serves me correctly, I do believe that the lettering may have been improved in version 3 but that is a purchased upgrade from a dealer. Version 3 gives you a larger Acu hoop and many more designs and some decorative stitches too. However, your bobbin thread should not be pulling up to the top with any embroidery machine. There is something wrong in your tension which may require having your machine serviced. Also try to slow down the speed as lettering can go off if you are stitching at full speed.

I had the same problem with bobbin showing on embroidery designs, I am in the United Kingdom and took my machine back to head office at Stockport. I was told only to use Janome bobbin thread and this now seems to work (although expensive).

I have Janome Embroidery only machines and have yet to use Janome thread. I order my bobbin thread from a Mill here in the states. My top thread is usually generic quality I buy off EBay. If bobbin thread is showing through it is either the design itself or tension. Loosen the top a fraction or tighten the bottom a fraction or a combination of both. Check to see that the design is not stitch intensive or "bullet proof". Also make sure of the hooping and stabilizer.

Your USB should be only 2GB or less. I've heard that some have used 4GB but I wouldn't advise it. Also do not put lots of designs on the USB as it takes to long for the machine to read and it may freeze up on you.
A new USB just needs to be placed in the MC11000 and it will do what needs to be done. To actually format, you need to go into settings and scroll through the screens until you find the page.
