Hello All!

I have recently purchased a used Janome 10000 (Upgraded to a 10001 - Version 3). Customizer 10000 was included with it. I have also purchased Monogram Wizard Plus With Extended Features, ATA Card, Memory Card (256 MB), and a Card Reader/Writer, just to give you a little background.

I am pretty comfortable on a computer and have been able to download some designs to my computer like a champ. I can even open up a design in Customizer (Although when I open in I get an error message that says "file not found" yet there it appears on the right side frame.) My question is why does it do that? Also what is suppose to go in the left hand frame? Next and this is a biggy for me, how the heck do I enlarge it?

Next, when it comes to Monogram Wizard (Once I figure out how to enlarge the darn design in Customizer), I have figured out how to add the lettering and save the design (I think!....lol), but it does not bring up the lettering and the design both. Why? Do I need to save each layer individually? I want to be able to stitch the whole thing at once. That's why I brought Monogram Wizard with Extended Features to begin.

One more question, On my machine based on the info that I gave above, is there any other file format that I can use on my machine? I was told .dst.

Thanks everyone!

I can't answer the questions on your software, but the file format you should be using is JEF...that is the format designed for Janome machines. DST can be ready by some but not all of them...JEF is read by all Janome machines and is the format of choice. Customizer probably does not see the DST format... I used that program long ago and never had problems but I only used JEF

You are in EasyDesign which is the portion of Customizer where you create (digitize) your own designs. If you're bring in an existing design, the software won't be able to find the .bmp or .wmf it was designed by so it says it can't find it. In general, nearly all the time, you should select EasyEdit and to bring in a design, click on the little flower rather than "Open"(which thinks you want to open something that you've made a arranged design with). After you have the design on the screen, you can enlarge it by clicking on one of the "handles"on the boxes edge that surround it. Hope this helps!

Granny is right the file format is jef and that is what customizer can read. Customizer is a limited outdated program and can only read limited lines of lettering. You have to create the lettering in the hoop of your customizer and then save it. There are other updated sftware programs out there so you might want to look into those. I received Monogram Wizard with extended features with my 11,000 a few years back and I never found it a friendly program.
I never could get it to work with customizer to make me happy. that is when I invested in the digitizer/Pro software and that is a fabulous Program. The newest edition of the digitizer/Pro software is called MBX. Why not contact a local Janome dealer and let him help you make a decision on what is best for you.
