Hi, we posted early last year about my wife's Memory craft 300E and how to get patterns etc onto it... we obtained the ATA/PCICMA card and a 128MB card, but all we keep getting is the following message when inserting the ATA card and memory card in to the PCICMA slot
" ATA PC CARD MEMORY ERROR"
"FAT ERROR IN THE CARD"
"DO YOU WANT TO FORMAT THE CARD"
We press the yes button and get a message of :
"ATA PC CARD MEMORY ERROR"
"AN ERROR OCCURED WHILE PROCESSING"
And that is all we get, have tried different cards all upto 2GB in size, pre-formatted them ALL on my computers , but to no avail.....
any help greatly appreciated ..... we have been told that it may be a circuit board problem... , if so where can you get them....
The card should be formatted in the machine have you tried that. The 300E cannot read a 2gb card. the 128mb is the correct size. When you format the card in the machine it does take a number of minutes for the machine to do that. Perhaps you are removing the card too soon befoe it is finishing formatting.
I think you need to take your machine in for servicing. If you are getting the error with more than one card, there is something wrong in the 300e's motherboard. Only a service technician can test that to know for sure. I can't imagine that you would have so many problems with more than one card.
I only use a 32 or 64 MB card in my 300. It cannot read over 100 designs regardless of how large so you don't need them larger. I first format all my cards when I get them in my computer...then I take them to the machine and try to read them...this formats them. Then I put it back in my computer and load the designs in the folder EmbF5 thast was created when the machine formatted it. Sometimes I get errors but not often...but getting an error does not always indicate a machine problem...the machine is a computer. Turn it off then back on... wait till it is booted up completely. then choose the icon for loading the design from the card. it will then ask you to insert it... then wait till it reads this..it will take a while and do NOT turn it off or pull out the card or push anything else... only then if you still cannot read a card take it to your dealer and have them check it out.
