Hi! I have some Super Spirograph drawings which are complicated line drawings, almost fractals, and I was wondering if there was a way I could embroider them on the MC 10001?
I contacted the Generations people as I use the Generations software to digitize designs and they suggested that I separate each color and do them one at a time and then overlap each color. I don't think she realized how extremely difficult and time consuming that would be...
Any suggestions? Does anyone even know what I am talking about when I say Spirograph designs? I can supply a picture for anyone who thinks they might know what I can do.
Thank you,
Kathy

Perhaps it might be easier to transfer the designs onto your fabric and use free motion embroidery. You would have to stabilize the fabric. You would not be restricted to 5 x 7 (unless you are prepared to do re-hoopings). However, this will only work if you are content with outline stitches.
Maybe one of our brilliant digitizers will come up with something for you.

Kathy, I think that what you would like to do would be time consuming, even with our new Digitizer MBX software. If I understand Digimad, Generations software is difficult to work with and hasn't kept up to date either.
I think I would digitize a pattern and copy it, paste, then move it to the place where it is identical, change the colour if necessary. However, i they overlap each other, you would have a cazillion colour changes to do. It does sound intriguing though.

Scan your design in, open it in Generations, size it to your chosen hoop, then patiently digitise it manually uing the runstitch tool, take care not to have overlapping lines dead in the centre or you'll end up creating a mares nest and bust a needle. Another thing you can do is make ue of the contour fill and create ovals making each oval a different colour. It is possible but very time consuming. Keep your step length 2mm, 3 at most or you'll find you wont get smooth curves. Don't try auto digitising them, and dont let Generations auto path them. Hang each new node if you are not confident enough to do a complete design in one long continous line, on the last node of the previous object. You just click on the previous object in the film strip and that will show the little red arrow shape, which is the exit point. Land directly on it with the first node. You have to keep generations from creating its own pathing, its utterly diabolical.
