I just downloaded some embroidery designs with the jef extension. When I go to the card on my computer, it shows the files. When I insert the card into the slot in my sewing maching, the hourglass comes up, but then there is nothing on the screen. Help! What am I doing wrong?

have you formatted your card in your machine first/

When you format your card it creates folders for you to put your designs into and that allows the machine to read your files.

Also you cannot use a card larger than 128mb depending upon the machine. If you have formatted your card and you only see the hourglass the machine is looking for the design so it is either too big a card or the folders have not been assigned when you formatted.

Go to this page and you will be able to get all you need to understand how to use your ATA card or USB.

I do wish that Janome would set up a space exclusively for formatting and using our external devices. It would make life a whole lot easier for many folks in the learning process.

Thank you! I got it!!! I am a newbie to sewing embriodery, and want to make sure that I get full use of this machine. Thanks again for the formatting advice, and the link!
