I am getting false thread breaks on my MB4. It will stitch one letter stop with a false thread break and I have to restart it. Sometimes it will pull the thread out of the needle when starting back and I have to rethread. I cannot find my manual can anyone give me some ideas on what to try. Tension seems fine and sew pretty just aggravating as you have to stand there to sew anything out and restart after every letter.

Assuming that you are correct in regards to the tension, you'll need to bring your MB4 to your dealer for service. Have you tried different needles and fabric to see if there is a difference? You'll probably need to bring your machine to a dealer for service. The MB-4 isn't serviceable by the user in any way.

I would try switching that color to another needle. If the problem continues it may be a problem with the design. If it stitches out without a problem you have isolated it to that needle/thread run.

This leads me to think that it is indeed breaking but from underneath. When you get these "false thread breaks"... take a stiletto to sweep under the foot and pull the thread back to the top. Make sure you have the recommended length of thread tail before restarting. My 200 E likes about 4-6 inches.

Also make sure your bobbin is unwinding in the correct direction.
