I have a Janome Memory Craft 200E I have 145 downloads on my USB key. It looks like my machine can only read 25 pages (4 designs per page) I do understand that a USB is only for transporting files but things were going along very well, and there are so many lovely designs so I just keep adding. So any suggestions or is there a problem with me machine?

You should archive designs on your computer, and transfer only a couple of files with the USB stick: (1.) the Janome, although a computer itself, lacks the performance to handle such a bunch of files with previewing, navigating etc. (2.) it is not recommended to put more than 100 files in a single folder (although I don't know if you did that).

You should find another way to save your backup. The usb stick are known to corrupt try using a CD or DVD, I use DVD because it hold more then also have them on my hard drive. I only use the USB to transfer a design to the machine.

Mcamley,

It is best to just use your USB to take the design you are using to your machine. You might want to get a few, that way you will never put to many on one. I have had my embroidery machine time out and I have the MC11000 with a good size memory in it. A friend had her built-in memory so full that she couldn't put a design on for a class. Try not to save to many directly onto your machine as that creates problems too. Save that memory for something special, like a class and then transfer the design to your computer when you get home.

I need help too! I just bought my Janome 350e the other day and was uploading and editing designs without a problem. Now I can upload some of the images (not all of them like before) and when I try to edit them....the hourglass comes up for a very long time and nothing happens....i have waited up to 25 minutes before giving up and shutting it down (i know that is a bad thing to do). I have tried reformatting my usb stick and that has not helped. i have tried the other built in designs and some of them do this too! Please help as it is frustrating the heck out of me as well as worrying me that my machine is "broken".
thanks

julie:

Are you using software to edit your design or are you saving them on your machine. Remember your machine and USB are like a computer. If you save too much in memory it will slow it down.

Hi Mom,
I have been doing both. I have saved only 3 designs onto the machine, otherwise I have been using the USB stick. I thought maybe I had too many on the stick (35 designs) so I deleted them and only have one on it now; but it still is not working. My machine will see the image but as soon as i try to edit, that is where the problem begins.
Mom...should it take more than 5, 10 or 20 minutes to download one image to edit?

No it should not.

What software are you using?

Clear your USB drive of any designs and save them on your computer. then go to your machine and reformat your USB drive and see if that clears it up for you. Perhaps it is your flash drive. What size is it. Rmember not to use larger than a 1 or 2 gb. the machine has trouble reading a large drive.

I will have to check the size of it but i did reformat and only put one design on it thinking that would work....it loaded the design but when i hit the edit button thats when it happened.

could it be that i used the digitizer program to size the design before i put it in the machine? will it not let me re-edit it once i have done it on the program already?

Perhaps your sewing area is too small for the design. Your design must fit in the sewing area of your hoop. Or the machine will not recognize it.

Okay this is what happened....

I cleared my usb stick and reformatted it.
I then uploaded images into Digitizer and did some edits with the images within the program. I saved 2 files to the usb stick. same image but image is reversed on the second file.
I took the usb stick, plugged it into my Janome 350e. It loaded the images onto the machine. I was able to see both files. When i clicked on file one, it opened. but when i clicked on the edit "button" it would not load the page. it just showed the hourglass figure. With the second file, I clicked on it and the hourglass figure appeared. it would not even open the file like the first one. Just the hourglass figure appeared.
I am so confused as to why this would happen. what am i doing wrong?

What hoop are you trying to insert the design in. Is it the Giga Hoop by any chance?

Hi,

Are you working with the giga hoop? If you are there is a correct way of saving the design. I don't have that hoop with the MC11000 so have never done the process. Have you tried sending the design to your USB. The Giga hoop is just 2 "B" hoops that overlap, so you should be able to save as 2 designs use your clothsetter and re-hoop if the giga hoop method doesn't work for you.
