I just wanted to see if anyone has had the timing on their janome 11000se to jump out of time? I was embroidering and the thread nested under my design causing the machine to lock..... After I cleaned the mess out and got it back ready to finish the design the needle wouldn't pick up the bobbin thread.. I contacted my janome repairman and took the machine to him.... he said it was normal for the machine to get out of time when the thread nested.. He told me to wait and in 30 minutes he produced my machine as good as new!! I returned home and it stitched about 2 inches and made another nest, now it won't pick up the bobbin thread!! I am taking it back to him on Monday.. I have my fingers crossed and I am saying a prayer that it will or can be repaired back to the way it was when it was new!!

I have never heard of that. I've had the nesting problem happen and have never had any problems with the machine afterwards.

Hi Cindy,
Ask your technician to check the bobbin case area with a fine tooth comb as your bobbin may have spun out a bit and caused the problem. The little thing that holds the bobbin in place may need to be tighten a bit so that it doesn't allow for to much movement of the bobbin case. Thread nesting may cause that to move a little to much and be a problem. Before you take it in, clean out that whole area and thread the machine super carefully and see if you can get it to work. It won't hurt to have the tech look at it anyway - he may have missed something as well. We are all human after all.
Good luck and let me know how you make out.

I haven't had this on my 11000SE but have had other machine do that. You need to figure out why it is nesting so you can prevent it from happening. A broken needle can also cause the timing to get out.

Thank you to all that responded, be thankful that your machine hasn't given you any troubles......this is where I am with my machine!!!
I cleaned and cleaned the bobbin area, rethreaded the machine to find that my automatic threader didn't match up with my needle.... so I returned the machine to the repairman. He told me the timing was just fine....and that he had to replace the threader hook on the threader.... I got it home with my pocket book $80.80 lighter...the first trip was $35.00...
so I get home and set the machine up so excited to have my baby home.... I put in a design and get it ready to stitch.....the machine stitched about 3 inches and broke the needle..... I put a new needle in and cleaned the bobbin area for the broke part... got it going again and it stitched about a inch and bent the needle.... 1 more needle ''''arrrrrrrr'''
replaced the needle rethreaded everything.... stitched about 2 inches and bent that needle....... I was getting really upset so I left it alone for a while so it could settle down!!!
I returned a while later and put a very very simple design in the machine and put a red tip needle in( I always use blue) so see if it would make a difference..... it stitched the design but the top thread broke about 12 times.....arrrrrrrrrr!!!! every 2 times it broke I would put a different color and brand in... the machine also has a different sound to it....the repairman tech... or what ever his title is also adjusted cleaned and oiled the machine since I have had it almost a year... Feb. will be a year I have owned this machine... I hope this is not as long as it lasts.... I am a very very patient person but it is wearing on my last nerve!!! I forgot to mention that the closest Janome dealer is 70 miles from me!! So my travel time is costly as well!! I am going to let it rest a while and try once again.....then BACK TO THE REPAIRMAN one more time!!!

If your machine is not a year old yet you should not have paid anything for what your repairman had to do with it. The machine should have a one year warranty. Check your paperwork that you received with your machine and it states that it is warranted for one year from date of purchase. You may need to take that 70 mile drive and ask for a refund of your repair bill. I also would not take my machine back until it is fixed right because after your one year you may have a nightmare. Also if you have problems with the tech call Janome they should be more willing to help.
Good luck!

Make sure that your top thread is properly in the tension discs, the needle should be in the highest position. Also check that these discs are perfectly clean. It doesn't take much fluff or a tiny bit of thread to screw everything. Use thin lint free thread to clean them.
To diagnose the exact time/area of the problem use your handwheel to move the needle. This will slow everything down and you may be able to pinpoint the problem.

Also, when you are threading your machine, be sure that the presser foot is up so that there is no pressure on the tension disks.
I would take the machine back again and like Mom said you should have had some free warranty work done in the first year.

No warranty on my machine...... I purchased it from a individual that had purchased the machine and became over whelmed when she unpacked it and saw all of the buttons and etc.... she is a older lady 72 I think!! Here I was all happy about getting a great deal, it has worked wonderfully up until this incident.... my fear that my tech. that is repairing the machine is incompetent... even though he is a certified mc11000 tech. .... he really seemed to be at his wits end when I called and told him the machine was still messed up.. I emailed Janome.... they pretty much said "so sorry"!! I am without a embroidery machine and out of thousands of dollars if I can't get it repaired!! :-(

If you purchased it from the older lady and she still had the receipt for her purchase that should validfy the warranty. I would not just sit back and not do anything. I would call Janome again and ask if you could arrange for them to let you send the machine to them and if they tell you to bring it to the dealer insist that the dealer contact Janome while you are standing there. If the truth be told and the older lady gave you the right reason for the sale to you then as large a purchase as it was perhaps she could tell you where she purchased it and you could either contact that dealer or ask the older lady for the receipt.
It might be worth a try. Janome machines just dont break for no reason. And there has to be some dealer that will check it out correctly for you.

I had the same problem, back to dealer numerous times. He's only 15 miles away, lucky there and he doesn't charge me. Lucky there too. What I'm not lucky is having numerous problems with this machine and lately the software I would not buy this machine again. He finally fixed the nesting and broken thread problem, took about 6 trips. It was the timing of the machine. Works better now. Good luck.

I haven't returned to the repairman as to date... the day after I got it and found it to not be working correctly I came down with the flu.... I am just now getting better.
The lady purchased it from got it while she was on vacation from out of state and don't have or has misplaced her reciept..... she did offer to give me my money back if it can't be fixed ..... that made me feel a lot better... she is well off and has plenty of money........and it is a very nice thing for her to offer!! I will be in touch !!

Took the machine back in today.... the tech worked on it right in front of me... he tweaked the timing and it works again!! It is so amazing how such a small thing was such a BIG thing!! These machines are very very very touchy!! Everything has to work in perfect unisome... perfect threads.. the correct needle.. etc.. I hope that it continues to do well!! Thank you to everyone that responded to my post!!

When I had my 11,000 I always felt it was difficult to depress. but when I took it to my dealer he said I was not pressing hard enough. You may want to have it check out by the dealer, if you feel you have pressed hard enough and it does not open. You did return the carriage before shugging off the machine?
