When seeking to format my USB memory stick with downloaded designs for my MC 350E, I run into this problem.
When I get to the Threading and Format screen and press on the USB Stick option, the message shown is: "Format memory? All the stored data will be erased". At that point my options are to choose Okay (and delete memory) or return to the previous screen.
So, my first question is: What memory am I erasing and is this bad?
My second question is what is the function of the Register" option in the lower left hand corner or that screen page?
I'm very new to embroidery but have been playing with computers for years. I had the same problem recently with my 200E. I saved all the designs I had put on the flash drive and deleted everything. Then put the flash back in the machine and formatted it. Then back to the computer so I could open the EMBF folder the sewing machine put on and put the designs back on the flash. Not sure this is any help to you. Nothing will be lost that way. Formatting wipes the USB clean so saving them first is a good idea.
Hi Yam, when you select Format USB, the message applies to the USB memory, not the machine, anything on the USB will be deleted and then the machine will put the embroidery folders on the USB, there will be the main parent folder, and inside of it the child folder, you write designs to the child folder.
The register option is for for when you have selected a thread catalogue, you register your choice so the machine is aware you have altered the default thread catalogue, a sort of enter key.
Help! I have a MB-4 and just got started using it and a friend downloaded some files from a floppy to a memory stick and I did afew of them and went back to do more and they were gone so I took it back to my computer to check and they were all there but they won't come come up on the embroidery machine. I would be ever so grateful for any help any one can offer!!! Thanks.
I make a file called C: janome.
I insert my files in .dst format into that file.
I transfer only one hoop size at a time over to my MB-4.
I erase my transfer stick after each use.
They need to go into the embf of the emb file on the transfer stick.
I hope this helps, as I use Embird software and this method.
I have absolutely no problems since using this method.
I do a great deal of embroidery. What a joy!! From quilts to lace!
