I just picked up the latest issue of Threads. They reviewed several of the new TOL machines. Sadly the Janome 12000 was not one of them. I don't understand why.

Probably Jacquie, Janome may not be one of their sponsors or those articles are usually written way in advance. I am sure as time goes on the 12,000 will be on the top of the list.
Actually, in this issue, there is a one page ad. for the 12000 on the inside front cover. I just read the article in more detail and it is not really a comparison of the different brands. They just selected a few to high light some of the features which the TOL machines offer. The Babylock offers a "sketchpad" upon which one can draw a design and the machine will stitch it out. I suspect that this is only for very basic one colour designs, they did not elaborate. The Bernina has a special foot which is a stitch regulator for FM embroidery. They showed a bunch of hoops without much information other than to say that they were big. A few years ago, they did a really great multi-page spread sheet comparing features for various machines with comments, pros and cons. I think they even gave prices. I wish they would do this again.
