I am making dog collars using a nylon webbing and there are parts where I have to fold it over and sew two pieces together...sometimes it is so thick the needle just goes up and down in the same place. How do I avoid that?

I am sewing on a MC 9700 - thanks to everyone in advance!

You may have to use your walking foot,it act as an upper set of feed dogs to push that fabric through.Try that out and then let us know how that worked out.

Use your walking foot and use a top stitch 100 needle and sew slowly.

Sometimes though, if what you're sewing on is thick and only as wide as the presser foot (front to back), the feed teeth can't grip the fabric , have you tried the foot leveler button??

I realize this is an old post, but I'm wondering if a "jean-a-ma-jig" or "hump-jumper" would also work.
