Hi there. I'm a newbie today! I loaned my 6600P to my niece and have left the manual with her. I'm trying to raise and lower the feed dogs but nothing seems to happen, ie, I can't see them going up and down. Is this normal? I haven't used my machine very much and have never had to change the dogs. Any thoughts?

When dropping the feed dogs, shift the lever to the left. The LCD screen should indicate they have been lowered and if you are not sure still then drop and raise the needle by turning the handwheel one cycle, you should seem them lower. See page 25 of the manual, you can also download it from the Janome website if you look under 6600 Specifications.
