I purchase an 11KSE in February 2009 and was told that the machine had all the latest upgrades!
Since then I have gone to the dealer to purchase misc. items.
I also peruse the Janome website weekly and found an upgrade for the 11K SE 2.01 embroidery machine and they call it "The Professional Quilting Kit".
The upgrade includes an adjustable start up speed, a pause to draw bobbin thread up
when FMQ and about 10 other little things.
Does anyone have this upgrade? When did this machine upgrade come up?
The article I copied from janome website is dated 2009.
I would appreciate any comments as I am a little disappointed that I didn't get the
Latest and the Greatest after spending all that money.
Any and all comments appreciated!

Konee, I purchased my 11000SE in December 2008 and purchased and installed the upgrade to V3.0 about a year ago. I must say I am very happy with the "Professional Quilting Kit" upgrade, and I'm glad I decided to spring for it. Margrette in San Diego

Konee,

I also have the upgrade to V. 3 for the MC11000. I have not regretted purchasing it one little bit. There are quite a few nice new things and also more decorative stitches. There is a new hoop with it as well 7" X 7" which is very nice as it allows for a slightly bigger area to stipple or do other embroidery in. I've used it for my baby granddaughter's quilt that I made for her last summer. It was great having the extra square space to do the designs I'd purchased - little angles. If you decide to go for it I'm sure you will like it.

Margrette;
How much was your upgrade if you dont mind me asking because I bought my machine 11KSE 2.1 in Feb 2009 and was told that it had all the upgrades!
I brought it back to the dealer today and they are going to check into it. They seem to think the upgrade is already on there and I know it is not!
Thank you for your quick reply.

Thanks for your quick reply.
I am sure I would use those extra features too.
I am just trying to find out when the upgrade came out and why it was not on my
11KSE when I purchased my machine and when I asked ,the dealer assured me that there were no other upgrades and I was buying the lastest 11KSE2.1 in Feb 2009.
I hope I didn't overpay!
All comments are appreciated to alley my anxiety.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Konee,

Your dealer sold you the latest MC11000SE, which in January 2009 was Version 2.1. Version 3.0 came out in the next year. The 2 weren't far apart about a year. The main feature was the extra designs for quilting and the larger hoop. The cost in Canada was $500. A friend from Canada went on holiday to the US and purchased the upgrade at a saving of about $150-$200. I installed those upgrades for the ladies.

If you want the latest version just ask your dealer to order Version 3.0 for you. Don't give him/her the opportunity to tell you that you have the latest - be assertive as they sometimes assume what the customer wants.

I paid $499.00 in the US for the latest upgrade V.3 in October of 2009. I ordered it before the dealer even got it in.

Konee, I've been going to the same Janome dealer for many years, and she charged me less than $400 for the upgrade to V3. Margrette in San Diego

Margrette, CherylAnn and MOM:
I just realized I purchased my machine in February 2010, not 2009 so that means the
upgrade had been out already 14 months when I bought the latest 11KSE machine.
The dealer apparently didn't know or assumed it was the upgraded version.
I am really upset now knowing how much I paid! I have it in the dealer for the first year free
maintenance check and I also printed the info on upgrade from Janome website.
I will keep everyone posted as to what the dealer will do about it.
Thanks everyone for comments, ect. Konee11

Konee,

I feel badly that you seem to have been led to believe that you were getting the latest. Perhaps your dealer had not gone to the training so didn't have the latest information. I hope you resolve this soon as we on the forum cannot help you with that.
