I am concerned that when felting narrow strips the needle punches off the material being felted and leaves holes. Is there any way to avoid this. I thing this detracts from the overall design. Have not done too much but wanted to see what everyone thinks about this before I start a large project.

What fabric are you using for your base?? By the nature of the technique, there will be holes but usually if you keep on felting they get muted.
