I just purchased a Jamone 3434D serger in hopes of making diapers, diaper inserts, wipes, etc. I have seen wipes with a serged edge with 1" increments of 4 different colors around the edging. I can't imagine that they used multi-colored threads, because what are the chances of the colors being mixed with each other. The 1 inch colors were separate. If you put 4 different colored threads on the serger, is their something on the machine that will tell it to alternate the colored threads every inch? I am very new to this, and am just scanned the instruction booklet, and it shows nothing on this. Thanks!
One more ? for MOM - I went to the Red Rock Threads site for the Sulky Blendables. It has many "weights". Which one would be the best to buy for sewing on Birdseye fabric? Will I need to buy 4 of the same color spool for the serger to work?
No you only need to use it in the loopers. I just match the needle thread with the same color.
I have used mostly the 30WT. You can purchase it on line from JoAnne's fabrics or you can go to Uncommon threads they usually have it or just Google Sulky blendable threads.
It is a cotton thread but very silky. It runs like "butter".
