I am trying to ruffle 5 inch wide chiffon, using the Janome ruffler, for ruffles on a skirt. The ruffles I make are not full. Some of the time there is some fullness.

I took a class last week and had to use another machine to make my ruffles because the teacher or me could not make it work.

Regular cotton fabric ruffles beautiful. I have tried changing the tension and stitch length but I get the same results.

I need to ruffle 2 more rolls of chiffon for 2 more skirts by April 4. Thanks for all and any help.

Try starching the chiffon first. It is so soft that it makes it a bitch to work with. For sewing seams, I use tissue paper. This might work on the ruffler too but I am not sure.
