I am having a problem......

When I was quilting....running the machine for about an hour
The needle got caught and when I looked closer the needle had made whole in the black case that houses the bobbin. I could see that the bobbin case had slipped and rotated around... Out of place and into the way of the needle.

I took the machine to be serviced and they put in a new bobbin case for $60!

OMG!

But it gets worse, the problem did not stop. It happened again! And has not stopped. This machine has become a big problem. Can you help please.

Do I need to replace the part that holds the bobbn case.....because it is allowing the case to slip around, out of place. This seems like a bad error in engineering. How to get this fixed?

I suspect that the machine's timing is off because of it striking the bobbin case. I purchased a second case for my 6600 to adjust for applique and it only cost me $23. But that price could be based on my dealer bulk ordering those standard bobbin cases. If you were quilting with the blue marked case - yes, I have seen them go for nearly $60 when a dealer orders just one at a time.

You may have already taken these steps so I only sugguest them as a reminder... <G>I'd double check to be sure that bobbin case is threaded correctly and that it is seated in the carrage of the machine correctly. If you are using a heavy thread in the bobbin you might have to loosen the bobbin tension just a tad. Also make sure the needle is inserted all the way into the machine and tighten the screw with a screw driver rather than just hand tighten.

Let us know how things work out!

One thing that happens with a jam that spins the bobbin case out of position is the the stopper can get moved so that that knob on the case can get past it and spin out of position. The stopper is that metal piece on the right front that looks like sort of a flat wire. Your dealer should be able to put it into position. I hope you kept your other bobbin case because most of the time the needle hole can be sanded down (ask me how I know THAT!)

I'm waiting for more helpful answers, please!
My dealer fixed the out of position bobbin case, but the bobbin case still
makes "clunky" noise, LIFTS UP and causes
#1 the upper thread to form a loop on the bottom side of the seam
#2 the upper thread to brake
#3 my seam to look like like a stairs, because every "clunk" jumps the seam
side wise a stitch lenght
#4 the sewing machine to stop "for safety reasons".

This is VERY frustrating......

I think the timing is off on your machine. Take it back to your dealer and get him to check the whole bobbin assembly. The spring that holds the bobbin case in place may be broken - ask me how I know. This has been a huge problem with the MC11000 machines. The machines with thread cutters all seem to have a similar bobbin assembly or so it appears to me. As you were just to your dealer they should stand behind their work. As the dealer has to buy the bobbin cases, you will most likely have to pay for a new one. The cost is from $24.95 to $34.95, from what I have seen on store shelves. Labour is an addition to that.

Sirkalisa, the members who have replied to you, have given helpful answers, please bear in mind that like yourself they are machine users, not technicians. If your dealer hasnt given satisfaction write to Janome direct and explain your problem, itemising the steps taken to rectify them and ask them to check your machine.
Forum members cannot really diagnose then give detailed instructions on how to rectify your problem. We can only make suggestions based on our experiences. Judging by the responses you recieved those experiences were offered, it really is a problem that can only be rectified by a competent machine technician.
