I am considering the purchase of the Janome 9500 , but am new to embroidery. I am concerned if the software specs will be out of date soon, or if it will be one I can use for many years. Any suggestions on other machines purchased would be welcome info too. I can upgrade to another machine with my purchase price through my local dealer if I want to upgrade within the first year. I am excited to get started with embroidery with home decor and projects for my grandkids!
If I were you, I would consider the 9700 as it is newer technology.

I have the 9700 and I love it. It sews great and it embroiders great. You can download designs from the internet onto a Compact Flash card and put the CF card in an adapter into the machine itself. I haven't had any problems with the machine. If you want to sew and to embroider, this is a good machine for you. Good luck finding the machine you will enjoy.
